Bradford Kissell is an Eden Prairie, Minn.-based photographer and songwriter.

A former journalist, Brad's photography has won numerous awards. He is a multi-year “Photographer of the Year” at both the Minneapolis Photographic Society and Camera Club in Edina, and his work is part of permanent collections at the University of Minnesota – Minneapolis, and has been exhibited in several Twin Cities and outstate galleries.

"Since I was young and had nothing more than my little plastic Kodak Brownie camera, I have always loved how a subject at a specific point in time can be captured forever in a single frame with just a click of the shutter. Just as fascinating to me is how those times and places can rarely be replicated on a repeat visit to the very same spot, even just hours later. For this reason, I believe it is also true that a picture—of people in particular—rarely captures their essence. More often than not they are fabrications that say as much about the photographer's choices or preconceived ideas as the subject itself."
